2020
2020
She distinctly remembered that memorable year,
That had almost materialized the dreaded fear,
And had snuffed out blossoming lives...
Now, on the brink of 2035,
She looked back at the infamous year,
Wearing her weathered mask.
(A habit born from sheer fear)
But then she looked up at the clear skies,
And let the melodious chirping into her soul,
And felt for the millionth time,
That Corona had just played its role.
Her toddler was unknown to the smokes and smogs,
(Which she had been so familiar to.)
And her parents didn't have any breathing plights.
(That, alas, their parents had succumbed to)
Yes, she didn't need the mask anymore,
Nor did anyone actually...
'Cause, now Earth was free from COVID 19,
And centuries of pollution too,
Perpetually...
