Chapter 16

John felt a strong gust of wind the minute he threw the lemon from his pocket but he just ignored and walked into his room, and he turned to close the door, but the door closed on its own... Because John was drunk he wasn't bothered about it, he looked at Jency who was busy packing up and kids had already slept, he hugged her from behind asking “why haven't you slept yet?” Jency said, “I can't do all these in a hurry, let me finish it so that I can peacefully sleep at night and in the morning I can just get ready and walk out”. “Then let me help you,” said John. He sat down folding clothes, Jency said: “it’s alright John I am almost done, you go to bed and I will join you in 5 minutes”.

John hit the bed and was busy fiddling with his mobile, the minute Jency came to bed he kept his mobile aside and hugged her tight... “What's happening? Looks like you had too much to drink today” enquired Jency. “how much do you love me?” asked John without replying to her question. “I love you more than anything and anyone John, I have nothing beyond you in this world. my life and happiness lie with you and our little ones” said Jency.

John looked into her eyes, and kissed on her forehead by then Ziya woke up and sat down from her sleep, Jency asked “what happen Ziya why did you wake up?” Ziya replied “someone woke me up mummy they kept calling me by my name”. “no darling, who will wake you up? daddy and I did not hear anyone call your name, it must’ve been a dream, come on now close your eyes and sleep”. Ziya looked around jumped in between John and Jency saying “I will sleep here”... Jency almost screamed at Ziya, John said “let her sleep wherever she want to”, Jency huffed and laid down on the bed irritated. John held her hand, she looked at him and he smiled, Jency's anger vanished when she saw that mesmerising smile. she smiled back at him and they slept peacefully holding each other’s hand.

Early morning everyone woke up, got ready and settled in the car... John drove Charle's car and Sandeep drove his, after a while they started taking turns as it was a long journey; in between they stopped for breakfast and lunch... Jency and Alice were busy talking while John and Charles were listening to some nice melodious songs, John said “Charles now I have this sudden doubt”... “What is it?” asked Charles; “Hmmm what would you do with the pencils you stole?” Alice and Jency laughed out loud listening to John's doubt... Keeping his face stern Charles replied “what a doubt!!”. “I need an answer” replied John laughing, before Charles could reply Alice said “he has preserved those pencils”... What? Questioned both John and Jency in shock; Charles replied “don't be surprised guys these are memories that need to be stored and preserved”... Meanwhile, Sandeep overtook John and signaled him to stop the car, they stopped the car and Sandeep suggested it must be tiring for the ladies to go home and cook it's however close to 9 pm “why don't we have dinner and then go home?” both John and Charles agreed to it... On the way they found a good restaurant, finished dinner and drove back; by around 10:45 they dropped John's family... Everyone said Good Night and Goodbye to each other.

John unlocked the house door and the minute they entered the house he walked into his room and hit the bed... Jency was behind her daughters asking them to change their dress, get freshened up and finally, when the kids were done she put them to sleep and walked into her room... She heard John's snore, and she saw him sleeping without even changing. Jency decided not to bother him as he was too exhausted after the long drive, she took her towel and was walking towards the washroom and the "fan in their room turned on on its own," Jency looked at John he was sleeping she wondered who switched on the fan, she went close to the switchboard but she did not find any clue, she stood there thinking how that could’ve happened and she received message from Pavithra saying they reached home, she ignored the fan replied to Pavithra and got into the washroom to freshen up, she hit the bed and shut her eyes and she too slept in minutes.

It was 7:30 in the morning Jency opened her eyes and looked at the time, “oh god it's 7:30 I should send kids to school” in a hurry she freshened up and walked into her children's room, they were still sleeping she thought of waking them up but she didn't, it was already 7:45 and their school bus would come by 8:15 and moreover, the kids were too tired so she let them sleep and got into the kitchen, she cooked a simple breakfast and went to her room... She looked at John and he was still sleeping, she looked at the time it was 8:30 but she didn't want to wake up John. She sat on the cot, took her mobile and with a smile she was seeing photos they took on the trip. 

John woke up, he wished Good Morning to Jency, she wished him back. “What is the time Jency?” asked John closing his eyes again, it's 9:10 said Jency... “what!?!?” John sat up asking “why didn't you wake me up Jency?” She replied “you were tired so I thought you might not go to work today”.“no I have to go but I will come back early,” said John... He got ready and sat down to have his breakfast while eating he asked “did you send kids to school?” Jency said “no they are still sleeping”, he replied “good let them take rest and I suggest you do the same. I will try coming early”... While walking out he remembered something, he went back to his room and took the mobile which he had kept for recording before going to the trip, He tried to switch it on but the mobile battery was completely dead he put the mobile in his pocket and walked out... saying bye to Jency he started his bike.

John reached the office and before he took out his laptop he got a call on the intercom, it was his manager Mr.Narayan, he asked John to come to his cabin... John went to Narayan's cabin and wished him Good morning, Narayan wished him back and asked him how the trip was. “too good and very adventurous” John replied... “Great so where is the mobile which I gave you?” asked Narayan... "here it is," said John and handed over the mobile in his manager's hand. “why is it switched off?”, enquired Mr.Narayan... “I kept it on record mode and went on a trip and last night when I reached home I had totally forgotten about the mobile. In the morning I was already late to work, I just took a mobile put in my pocket and came to work” replied John... “So you did not see what's recorded in it?” asked Mr.Narayan, John said “no”... “Fine you carry on I will call you in a while,” said Narayan.

John went back to his desk and Mr.Narayan had no patience. he put the mobile on charge and tried to switch it on, the minute mobile turned On he went to the gallery and opened the first video, and the record went on... John's face was too close to the camera, he kept the record mode "On" and went. Behind John stood a lady with open hair, in a baby pink Salwar, the figure was not very clear but it wasn't that bad too where her face was not to be seen... Mr.Narayan's heart started beating faster, he took his water bottle and gulped down some water, with little fear he continued watching the video, record was going on for the entire night and the figure was seen sitting beside him throughout.
