I used to wonder what,

Makes a woman 

So motherly?

I realized it soon,

Only when I became one!

One who is as fierce as a lion,

When she's bravely protecting her clan,

But turns as soft as velvet,

When she's sharing unconditional compassion with elan!

The love so pure, selfless and never ending,

The patience that brims over and always ever growing,

Courage to face every fight with fiery passion raging,

Forgiving every mistake with never a hard feeling,

One who gives perpetually, with no expectation of receiving,

Kindness and generosity are the synonyms of this feeling,

A mother is one who 

Protects, nurtures and cares,

For the sake of her loved ones,

Her womb, her soul, her life she shares!

Respect her for what she has always been,

Don't ever complain, nag, be unkind or mean,

Your existence on Earth, you owe it to her,

Be sure to appreciate her efforts and make it worthwhile for her!
