We love our mother but we often fail to express,

Except her, the whole world we try to impress,

Before a child is born she starts her sacrifices,

Which can never be measured in prices,

Yet for granted is taken her every deed,

Like all is her responsibility the world has agreed,

How many of us know our mother's dream?

If it doesn't concern your family how are we a team?

We never care about looking back where we started from,

We think our struggles and hard work shaped us into what we had become,

Everything to us circumstances has taught,

Step out of your illusion and give it a thought,

Who has taken your tantrums as you were growing up?

Who has run behind you with that milk cup?

Who has packed your school bag by timetable?

Who has taken your mood swings that are unstable?

Who has known you like the way she knows you?

Who has stood by you in your storms to walk through?

Mom spends on her family whatever she earns,

Yet we are selfish we get irritated by her concerns,

Our love is in hiding things so that she doesn't have any tension,

But do you think she wouldn't know the truth if you don't mention it,

We always say we need a break because it was a tough day,

Do we care to think she might too need a break the same way?

We remember she lied about what's in our lunch during school,

But even in her sick days, she prepared it we forgot like a fool,

We remember she yelled at us to clean our cupboard,

Did we keep the count of how many duties each day she covered,

Sorry, mom for not acknowledging your efforts enough,

But now I know being you is tough,

I understand, no mother is just a woman,

Motherhood makes her a superhuman,

Thank you for being the epitome of love and selflessness,

Praying for your long life, good health, and loads of happiness.
