Reveille
Reveille
Pinkish, white blossoms, droop then drop.
Signaling the end to Spring’s display.
Confetti for the grounds, heralding the Summer;
Blushing goodbye to May.
Vibrant and perched upon balding branches,
Feathered, chirping buglers call.
A shrill lamentation for their loss,
As they watch, the silk flakes fall.
