Fairytales

Fairytales

Waking up

To the smell of hospital.

You know, the kind of

Stench that lingers

In the hairs of your nose.

Waking up and realising

I failed an overdose.

Waking up

To mum by my side,

Wondering why I’d give

Up life to die.

But life was not how

Fairytales go. Emotionally

Unbalanced, and lost

In deep sorrow.

The daily pain was

Hard to fight. I strived

To keep my spark

Alight, but in the end

The dark had won

And I could not

Survive.
