MOTHER'S ALL FACE

MOTHER'S ALL FACE

1 min
242

She suckled, pulled, tugged at my breasts

didn't know when to stop, vomited

and when milk ran out, cried insane

my tears pooling up on her face

overtaken with feeling of helplessness

Had to go for work leaving her

in care of a governess

broke my heart into a million pieces

Wished I could have had the privilege

of being a stay home mother to witness

her every sleeping/waking moments

Alas! that was not to happen!

Now she stands on the threshold of success

a mother herself

Her mother long forgotten when flew out

of the nest

Irony of life all mothers face

...Give unto them, forget the rest..
