Because Feeling Numb Is A Feeling Too

As I sit by the window and stare up high,
Memories start to choke, the silenced sigh
I can feel a thousands butterflies die with the sinking gut,
As tears start to blur my vision and throat grows a lump
The oblivion dawns upon, but I only feel numb.

Shambling, I carry the cadaver of my dreams
I gaze at the mirror stands still a beast, with deathly eyes
cracked lips crimsoned, the harrowing sight
I wonder if I am this person, I no longer recognize.

Falling to the floor, I struggled to keep my calm
I start to paint my body with failures,
not leaving a spot: my long calves, thighs, wrist and palms
As the pain gets passage, the tiles get a hue
It was only then I knew, feeling numb is a feeling too.
