Piyush's winter holidays were starting from December 22 this year. He had long wished to visit Gujarat, and his wish was fulfilled this year.

He along with his parents and brother packed their bags and embarked upon their journey to Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.

Winters are the best time to visit Kutch. The temperature during these months is between 25 to 12 degrees Celsius and makes the weather perfect for sightseeing. This is also the best time to visit Rann of Kutch Festival.

The Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) introduced the ‘White Rann Experience’ in 2005. At first it was a three-day festival which subsequently evolved into a 100-day celebration at Dhordo, a village near Rann of Kutch where a whole new tent city has been created, replete with temporary infrastructure built and rebuilt every year.

Rann Utsav is one of the most eagerly-awaited tourism events of India, which celebrates the marvels of nature at the White Desert and the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Kutch. The concept of Rann Utsav was envisioned by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat.

More than five lakh tourists visit this festival from more than twenty countries. Bookings for the tents are done beforehand. There are many types of tents available for booking starting from Rs. 3000 for one night to more than Rs. 10000 also. One can choose as per one's budget.

Piyush's father had booked one for the family. Apart from going sightseeing and visiting nearby places, the family indulged themselves in a range of other activities like Paramotoring, parasailing, Segway rides, ATV rides, camel cart rides, star gazing, Bungee Run Basketball etc.

After thus spending ten days in the White desert, they returned back with some great memorable experiences. Piyush again hopes to visit there next year as well and enjoy his winter holidays in its serene environment.
