In the first of his ten incarnations, the god Vishnu took the form of Matsya (a fish) to save primeval man from the deluge that consumed the world. Here Vishnu is shown as a complete fish rather than the more usual interpretation of the god as a human torso with the lower body of a fish.

This avtar was taken two defeat two 'Asur' which was 'Madhu' and 'ketup'. Madhu and ketup stoles 'the Vedas' from bhramha and want to destroy them to rule the earth.

Matsya Avtar suggests 'Manu' to create a big ship and to save the life of all other animal and humans. As a Big 'Sunami Or Pralaya' was to come.

Then later matsya Avtar killed Madhu and ketup and setup the peace on earth
