The Story Of Woman Empowerment

Let me tell you with certainty that Indian women are on a high these days. In fact, modern-day Indian women never had it so good. Let me say "touch wood" so that no evil falls on them. Indian women are now bold, loud, and at times aggressive depending on the situation. They are seen raising a valid point and making a valid point on every issue of national importance. I must admit or confess here that women speakers or spokespersons come to the debate with proper homework and hence are equipped with sound & irrefutable facts.

Gone are the days when Indian women were mute or dumb spectators to the happenings around them. In other words, they were confined to four walls of the kitchen and reduced to non-actors & non-performers in the drama of events that unfolded in the day-to-day activities of life either at home or in society. They had no role to play whatsoever in society building or community development.

Today, on one side, you have women criticizing or questioning the central government on each and every issue concerning the nation, at the drop of a hat. Surprisingly they are even seen or heard offering solutions and alternatives to the vexed issue, unmindful of the fact whether they are valid or not, such is their confidence & arrogance. Mind you, the day is not far when you will come across women whistleblowers and women troubleshooters!

On another side of the spectrum, you have women heaping praises on the central government and central leadership. More often than not, they act as the unofficial spokespersons of the central government posing a threat to the real and official spokespersons of the party in power. These confident & vocal women get a lot of undeserved attention from the media and are widely quoted by the print & digital media.

All said and done, I support and welcome woman empowerment and activism so what if there is a lot of drama and theatrics involved which add spice to the political life & political happenings?

Women undoubtedly are the real performers in the present world of technology!
