The Secret Wish List

Kavya recollected her childhood memories. Watching the rain outside, she tried to forget all the sadness that had surrounded her for the last few days. She thought, failure in a competitive examination is not final. Yes, she was facing random failures in these examinations. At a point of life, she had started thinking of herself as a complete failure. She is a failure, nothing else.

She was sitting near the western window of her room. The sky was preparing for a heavy downpour. It seemed like the sky was waiting to shed tears too. Kavya was thinking of how she could start a new life. She brought out her notebook on her lap. With a pen, she started to pen down her heart on that paper. After sometime, she wrote a beautiful poem on her childhood dreams. She always wanted to be a child educator. And a writer. She thought for a while. What is this life for actually? We all have a secret wish-list buried in our heart. But with times, it gets lost somewhere. The dreams are still queued there, waiting to bloom into a wish tree, sometime. "Yes, the time has come", Kavya told herself.

A failure in an examination is not final. "I want to be a teacher, I want to spread love and wisdom to children. I want to write, I want to be a writer, a storyteller." Now Kavya knows what she really wants to do. She is going to fulfill all her secret wishes. The seed that was planted years ago is now a wish tree waiting to bloom. And the tree will be a shelter for some others, too. For those who are abandoned from life, for those who are lost in the darkness of despair. The tree is blooming. Tree of the secret wish list.
