The Lucid Dreamer

On the dark night full of silence, Samar was so restless even in his sleep. And suddenly he woke up from that dark suspicious dream. He couldn't sleep at all after the time. In the morning he had his breakfast in that damn stress thinking of the nightmare he got last night and hurried up for his office.

As he reached his office and saw his girlfriend he ran into her cabin and hugged her so tight that she could feel his stress. Samar was a very emotional guy even more that his girlfriend understanding him she asked "Hey Samy, what's the matter? Are you fine?" Samar replied "Yes, I'm fine Shreya, just stressed with work". Shreya asked, "Let's go on the roof top of this building and have some coffee come on". Samar refused to go on the rooftop because of his last night dream and asked to her to have coffee in the office canteen itself.

For the time when Shreya was with him he was neutral but, as soon she left after office he again started thinking about the same dream he got last night. And whenever he used to think of this dream he used to get lost in the depressing thoughts. Samar was even curious about the same nightmare as he woke up in the middle of the dream and wanted to see what's gonna happen further in the dream. He thought of the same thoughts whenever he was alone and so while sleeping too. This night he got the same dream again and the same on the next night.

The thing was he used to wake up at the same point of his dream where he woke up in his dream for the first time. This continued till couple of weeks and then he decided to visit a psychiatrist. He went to the psychiatrist and was so nervous. Psychiatrist asked, "Hey buddy, how are you?" Samar couldn't answer the question and directly started explaining what is happening to him. Doctor, I saw a dream 2 weeks ago, a very furious dream, it was a very bad nightmare, where a girl jumps off from a rooftop of a building but I couldn't see her face and believe me I'm getting this dream every day since I've seen it and every time I couldn't see her face.

Listening to his case doctor asked him some questions whether was he feared too much for the first time he saw this dream? He obviously was. Doctor said it's nothing to worry about nothing serious the dream has just set the impression on your mind and you are getting illusions of the same every night. Calm yourself it will go soon. But it didn't stop for the next full month. And he decided to consult another psychiatrist this time the psychiatrist threatened him a lot by saying that it's a serious matter. He went home and asked himself to see the full dream today out of fear. And he did but, the saddest part for him was the girl jumping off the rooftop was his girlfriend Shreya. The next morning he skipped his breakfast and ran to the office and this today decided to tell everything to Shreya. As he saw Shreya he hugged her so tight even tighter than the last time, tears shed off from his eyes. And told her the whole story of what's happening to him since two months.

Shreya wiped his tears and kissed him with a bright smile on her face. Samar asked her, "Aren't you afraid after listening to all this". She replied, "No, stupid lucid dreamer". Samar asked, "What? Lucid dreamer? What's that?" Shreya said, "Yes, Lucid dreamer, a person who can control his dreams, dear you are just lucid dreaming since two months, you saw it for the first time and to know who was she you tried seeing it again and again but didn't go further and woke up out of fear now you've seen the girl right? See since tonight you'll never get that dream again and I'm not leaving at all. Dreams aren't true darling. And you should have told me the day you saw it why did you hide it from me since these many days? Now forget it and let's have a coffee? On rooftop?" Samar smiled and seriously forgot it and even never got dream again.
