The Lost Lad

This story is about two brothers. One named Tom aged 7 years and other named Nick aged 3 years. They were the sons of Mr. And Mrs. Grant.

The story starts when they were on their way from school towards home.

While on the road and about a 500 metres away from their street, they heard something unusual from their back. It was the noise and hustle of a huge crowd running away from a place of protest, after the cops started firing over them to stop the rage.

The brothers in fear, and to save themselves ran to the opposite sides of the road. One on left and other on right. The crowd came like a mad herd of sheep being threatened by hunters and then after few minutes they vanished.

Then a few cars of the cops rushed after them and they too vanished.

After that Tom the elder brother asked Nick to come back so that they can go to Home. But wow where was Nick?

He was not there on the road neither at left nor at the right. He was nowhere. Tom searched the cars standing nearby but Nick was not there.

Nick had also vanished with the crowd?

Tom searched everywhere but futile. Nick was not anywhere. Their parents had gone to meet their aunty just a few meters from their home right at the third street. They had left the keys with their neighbour Mrs. Will, a 60 year old lady who did not like to be bothered with kids and used to be in her home most of the time.

But hold on where was Nick? What would Tom tell his parents? He searched again but Nowhere could he see Nick.

Now, scared and confused and tensed Tom went to the area Police station where they asked for a photo of Nick.

Tom luckily had one family photo so they got to know how he looked like.

They asked Tom to contact his parents and tell about the lost brother, but he was scared as he was 7 and his parents had asked him to take care of Nick.

He was so scared that he started to cry too badly and loudly and asked Police to search for his brother.

The policeman asked him whether he had search Nick carefully and everywhere and he said yes.

Then they again went to the spot. There was no sign of Nick.

Tom started crying again but policemen said that they need to inform his parents.

Tom left the police station in fear and walked towards his home with a heavy heart.

Tom was afraid that his parents would send him to the hostel or might be they may abandon him for this mess.

No, he decided to go to his friend and classmate John's house.

He went to Johns place and told him everything. John decided to help him and took him to his tree house and decided to keep his friend there until Nick is searched and found.

Then in the same time suddenly a man with his wife rushed to the police station and asked officers to search for a boy aged 7 years known by the name Tom. They showed his photograph.

The policeman was surprised. It was the same boy Tom who had filed a complaint for his missing younger brother Nick.

They told them that their younger lad was also missing as reported by the elder son same Tom a few hours back. They said how is this possible? Policeman asked why not? Yous own son Tom said that he had lost his brother in a chaos and then policemen asked wait who told you that your elder son Tom is lost?

They replied our younger son Nick called up from neighbours place to inform us that he had lost his brother Tom.
