The Locked Room

Detective Roy was called to investigate a murder case at a hotel. The victim was a wealthy businessman who was found dead in his room, which was locked from the inside. There were no signs of forced entry or struggle. The only clue was a note on the bedside table that read: "I know what you did."

Roy examined the room carefully and found nothing else of interest. He then interviewed the hotel staff and learned that the victim had checked in two days ago and had not left his room since then. He had ordered room service twice and had paid in cash. He had not received any visitors or phone calls.

Roy was puzzled by the case. How did the killer enter and exit the locked room? What did the note mean? Who was the killer and what was the motive?

He decided to check the CCTV footage of the hotel lobby and corridors. He hoped to find some clue that would lead him to the killer.

He watched the footage carefully and noticed something odd. On the day of the murder, he saw a man wearing a hooded jacket and carrying a backpack enter the hotel and head towards the elevator. He pressed the button for the fifth floor, where the victim's room was located. He then got out of the elevator and walked towards the victim's room. He knocked on the door and waited for a few seconds. Then he opened the door with a key card and entered the room. He closed the door behind him and locked it from the inside.

Roy zoomed in on the man's face and recognized him. It was the victim himself!

Roy realized that it was a case of suicide, not murder. The victim had staged his own death to look like a murder. He had used a fake identity to check in to the hotel and had brought a gun and a note with him. He had shot himself in the head and left the note to create a mystery.

Roy wondered why the victim had done such a thing. What was he hiding? What did he do that made him want to end his life?

He decided to dig deeper into the victim's background and find out the truth.
