PART 1

Its been almost three years now. The days went quite quickly. Tomorrow it will be the end of the cooling period given by the court. Whatever little bit of connection left in our marriage will be over tomorrow. Court had given us 6 months to take a chance and look to solve our differences. The day court decided to give us that chance since then she neither called nor messaged me. I told her in the court about giving it a try but she only said she will think about it. Since then she is still thinking.

Today it is looking like it is going to rain quite heavily. I am here in the middle of the market area 2 km from my place waiting alongside the ST bus stop to return back home after the weekly shopping. It is raining already from 2 to 3 hours but not that much however now it has started a lot heavier. I was at the st bus stop on the road under the roof. The bus was a bit late today. it was raining quite heavily now... the bus still didn't arrive... I was getting frustrated now. just a bit later my eyes caught a view at the other side of the road... There was a lady standing under a shop. Due to heavy rain, I wasn't able to see her face quite clearly but still, it was somewhat clear. I saw that color of her dress and it seemed a bit known and yes she was "Nilima". I was confident about her identity. she often comes here a day before the court hearing. She spends the night attends the hearing in the court and goes back to her village. Her place is quite far away from the court so she comes and stays here at Vedika's place. Vedika and Nilima were college friends. but today I have no idea why she is standing here in this rain. We don't talk anymore. she gave birth to this silence, not me. I initially used to talk but she uses to ignore. Anyways I shouldn't think much about her. Tomorrow it will be all over.

The rain wasn't in a mood to stop and the bus also wasn't in a mood to arrive. I thought of having a cup of Tea as It was getting cooler now. I quickly ran to the other side of the road. just beside the shop where Nilima was standing. I stood just a bit further to a distance from where she can't see me but I could see her. I was watching her with each sip of the tea. She was looking tensed. For a moment I thought I should at least ask what was the issue. if not for the broken relationship but at least for the sake of humanity. In this case, she is a woman in need first and later my wife. I still thought a lot about the move as we had already left talking to each other and she never had that happiness on her face while talking to me in the recent past. The Tea finished and now it was pointless to stand there without reason. I decided not to ask her anything and just move but don't know why somewhere inside I felt that everything will end tomorrow but I am still her husband at least for one last time. I can't move away leaving my wife alone. I quickly moved towards her and called her name then...

Me: Nilima.....

She looked at me... but didn't replied...

Me: Why you are standing here in this rain alone... What happened??

Nilima: Nothing happened..you don't need to worry about me.

Me: Look Nilima if u are assuming that I am talking to you to grab an opportunity to be together again then you are wrong. Rain is getting heavier after some time it would be impossible for u to stand here too... that's the reason I asked. if you don't want to tell it is your wish. I asked because I didn't want to go home with my mind knocking my head the whole night why I didn't even asked u but anyways bye.

I didn't even look at her, post that and went towards the st stop. after some time I saw her coming towards the st stop. I didn't have any clue what she was up to. she came and stood before me and then she said...

To be continued.....
