The Futureteller

There lived a future teller in a village. He always gazed at the stars and tried to predict the future. Many people came to him to know their future.

One day he was walking alongside a road, gazing at the stars above. Suddenly he fell into a ditch full of mud and water.

He tried desperately to get out but in vain. He cried for help. Hearing his cries the villagers came out running and began saving him.

While he was being pulled out of the ditch, a villager said to the fortuneteller, that what use it is to be a foreteller when he could not know his own future and see what it is in front of him. If only he could have looked forward and walked properly, instead of gazing at the stars above, he could have saved himself from being in this precarious situation!

The moral of this story is that it is important to remain in the present. If we take care of our present then the future takes care of itself.
