"Johnny! Johnny! Please open the door", someone knocked on my door. I opened the door. A black woman with curly hair stood tense at my door.

Oh! let me introduce myself to the readers. I am Johnny the detective". I invited her to my house and gave her hot tea after which she relaxed a little. I asked her what had happened.

She answered, "My name is Stella and my house is far away from the city. Last night some unknown people burgled my house and they killed my husband and daughter Lee. They tried to kill me also but I escaped from them. I heard about you so I approached you. Please help me. I want to know who committed the crime? Why did they do it? What was the purpose? These people should be punished by the government. Please help me Johnny", pleaded the distraught Stella. I offered to help and asked her to tell me about herself and her family.

Stela said," My name is Stella. I am a businesswoman and my husband was Steve a billionaire. My daughter Lee was doing her graduation. We like to live simply. Recently my husband wanted to donate 60℅ of his income to a trust for people's welfare. We prepared all the documents for this purpose. The people in our company also accepted our decision. Suddenly disaster struck. These are the documents. Please take it and keep it safely", saying this she hand over her documents to me for safekeeping. "OK, Stella it is late at night today. Please take rest. Tomorrow we will discuss further.

"Good morning Stella!", I greeted her in the morning.

We changed, went to her house and searched thoroughly. We found a shoe and a wine bottle. Taking them we returned to my office cum home. We secretly called the forensic department and asked for fingerprints to be taken. They said that the results would take a week to come in. Under the shoe, I observed the brand name Jimmy Choo engraved. Next, I went to the showroom and asked for the person at the billing desk. Having shown him my ID he agreed to help with the police investigation. He provided us a list of recent purchasers with some names and addresses. Having obtained this crucial information we went back to the house to rest for the night. That night some people attacke

d but I was able to stop them. All but one managed to escape. The man was questioned and asked about the leader of the group. We took his fingerprints and matched it with the fingerprints used for attendance in Stella’s company.

I went to the company pretending to be a customer to buy a car. I replayed the CCTV records, copied the company data and came back without raising any alarm. Back at my house, we compared both fingerprints on my computer. However, the fingerprints did not match that of any company employee. Soon after I read in the newspapers that Stella’s father Peter had offered to give a reward of 5 lakh rupees to anyone who was able to find Stella.

I told Stella about this and she was surprised because Stella had married Steve without her father’s permission. Suddenly she decided to go back to her own house and met her father. He hugged her and apologized. He said he wanted to meet her earlier before the night of the tragedy but had not managed to do so. Stella also apologized and made up to her father. She came to my house that day and said that her father and she wanted her to withdraw the investigation. She wanted to go back to her father. I worked till late and slept at the monitor desk till morning.

The sound of a loud beep from the computer woke me up in the morning. The fingerprints had matched and there was a scarf at the scanner.

I aggressively woke Stella, “ Stella, Stella, wake up! Wake up, Stella!” Once awake she understood the entire situation. “This scarf was given to me by yesterday by daddy’s PA. Now we came to understand the case but we still did not have proof. We went back to the person we had caught and questioned him further. He said nothing. After observing him for some time we realized he was wearing a mask. We pulled off the mask.

We were shocked. It was Stella’s elder brother. “You brute, Stella dad wanted you to have a handsome, rich man as your life partner but you made a fool of us by marrying Steve. That’s why we killed him.” We handed him over to the police.

Stella was 22 then. I married her and now we live happily.
