The Boss: Excuse Me

Two years junior friend of mine pretending to be a junior and making me feel like a twin flame or to say a soul mate. He acted so innocent and impulsive often  in conflict over duties and stuff. I don't know when I became a problem solver for him helping in negotiating duties. He did acknowledge it by saying that I am very sensible. Often he would ask me to do my duty and I would do it. Once he asked me to give a cover for few hours in the evening in his duty. Though I did not like the idea but I could not say no because he asked me like an innocent junior cum friend. So I agreed and he returned for duty called me on the phone and said I could now go home. I don't know but I did not like this attitude. As a senior i was not supposed to give a few hours cover and as a friend atleast he should have had the courtesy to meet me and say thanks. So I asked him to come for tea at the restaurant on the ground floor of the hospital. He did oblige but in a way as if he was understanding my interest in him but he was a free bird.

We had tea together and the conversation was fluent as always. I told him there was a proposal for me of a doctor who had currently gone for an expedition to the poles of Antarctica. I said let him stay at the poles on a light-hearted note.

So it was all good and when it felt like something more than friendship he was quick to call me " Boss". Maybe to remind me that he was younger or to say I was older. It did not feel good but I could never ask him as to why he was calling me boss.
