Stand By Me - Part 13

There was an awkward silence for a few minutes which was interrupted by the waiter, Rithvik asked me if I would like to have coffee and I agreed. He asked the waiter to get two cappuccinos. The waiter nodded and left.

He cleared his throat and thanked me for coming. He said he wanted to clarify one thing specifically. He was not game for any long term commitment at this point in time although he wouldn't rule out that possibility completely. He has had many flings so far but none had been worth keeping up for a lifetime. The fact that he came from a broken home had made him somewhat hard-hearted.

We shared an eye lock again,I felt as if my heart is going to skip out of my body. All these years of reading Mills & Boon had not prepared me for what I heard just now.

The quote rang in my head - "When I look into your eyes, I know I'll hand over my heart even if you don't ask." Not sure who said it but I couldn't have said it better.
