She and He

She stood nervously in a corner of the crowded bus stop, surrounded by adults, children and elderly. Choosing to hide behind everyone, she must have waited for her bus to arrive at the earliest.

The middle aged man who followed her for nearly 15 minutes stood across the bus stop - still staring at her as if the crowd did not matter at all. 

She did not muster courage to speak up and let people know about him and the man continued staring at her. No fear, no dignity, absolutely no shame. 

A few minutes later, the bus arrived and I went ahead greeting the girl as if I knew her. Next thing I know is, he escaped.

Later in the bus, we spoke about his behavior and potential next steps to handle this dangerous behavior of this unknown middle aged man.

It is such a sad reality that even in this day and age there are many places despite being highly developed, a woman finds it hard to be all by herself. And she finds it hard to share with those around. And those around might not even know what is happening around them. We are so together yet so apart, isn't it?

To do our bit we can be supportive of one another and address such issues with care, on immediate basis and with absolute strict measures. We should do our bit sincerely.
