He had arrived! on entering the banquet hall, he found his in-laws, engaged in various activities - decoration, food tasting, reception of the bride-groom and his family. He stood there for a long time, when no one took notice of him, he was a bit surprised. But, thought to himself and blushed slightly, " let me quickly steal a glance of my lovely bride, while these people are busy. Else I would get taunted for being too impatient to see her."

He took the stairs to the green room, where his bride was getting her make-over done. He could not take his eyes off her. She was looking as colorful as a Scarlet Macaw and as elegant as a Flamingo. He was really disappointed when, even she did not notice him, admiring her. Just then he heard a cry of joy. Rushing to the nearby window, he found his in-laws, rushing toward the entrance. Murmuring, " the bride-groom has arrived...hurry up... where is the welcoming platter...where are the crackers?..."

A smile spread on his face. But wait! wasn't he already at his wedding venue? what was wrong with people around him? how could they not notice the bride-groom? He was a full-grown man, not a kid... these thoughts were buzzing in his mind, when he saw his mother coming out of the car. Her attire was sparkling dully. She should have been happier, than she really seemed to be.

As she came closer, he saw his mother's eyes glittering. Not with joy, but with loads of tears. On coming closest to his mother-in-law, she said in a whimpering voice with long pauses in between to suppress her grief, "the car in which my son was there, had collided with a train at the railway crossing. The train had flung it about five kilometers away..."

Then it was dark all around.

Did I tell you? it was RIGHT BEFORE THE EVENING...!
