Victoria entered the school reunion, which was held ten years later. As she walked in, she recognized many familiar faces who now looked much older. Some were unrecognizable, while some still looked the same. As she mingled with them and got to know what everyone was up to, a familiar face entered through the door. It took a moment for her to register until she realized who it was.

“Oh my God, it’s Alex Russell!” Elena, one of her friends, almost screamed.

“You know he is the CEO of that multi-billion-dollar company. Who would have thought a person like Alex could reach so high?” Maria, her other friend, added.

“Why are you people so excited about him coming here? What is so good about him?” Victoria scoffed.

“Oh, Vic, it’s been so many years now. Forget about what he did to you in high school. It was just a prank,” Elena spoke, trying to calm her agitated friend.

“You remember what he did to me,” Victoria snapped.

“Hello, ladies.” With that, the devil himself appeared in front of them.

“Hello, Alex.” Elena smiled and nudged Victoria beside her, who just gave him a small smile. In that second, someone else called Alex, so he excused himself and walked there.

“Thank God, he’s gone,” Victoria sighed.

“Grow up now and stop thinking about him. Let’s enjoy the night,” Elena spoke, and the three of them started having shots.

The night went on as everyone was having their own share of fun. Suddenly, the music changed to a slow one, and everyone found their partners. Only Victoria stood in the corner and awkwardly looked at everyone as she sipped her drink.

“Care for a dance?” A voice suddenly interrupted her chain of thoughts.

“No, thanks,” she replied the second she saw who it was.

“Come on now, it will be fun,” Alex insisted, and Victoria knew he wouldn’t leave her alone.

“Fine,” she agreed reluctantly.

“So, what are you up to these days?” Alex asked.

“Nothing, just working at Star Enterprises as their director,” Victoria replied with a smug look.

“That is great. I always knew you were capable of this,” Alex said with a smi

le, and surprisingly, Victoria could see genuine happiness on his face.

“So, I heard you became the CEO of a company,” Victoria spoke.

“Yeah, I mean, it’s something I enjoy doing,” Alex said.

“You must torment people like you did in high school,” Victoria muttered.

“It’s not like that. I was seventeen and dumb,” Alex protested.

“Just like how dumb you were when you plastered my face all across the school and on social media,” Victoria snapped.

“Listen, I am sorry about that. I didn’t mean to,” Alex sighed.

“Seriously? You think your sorry is going to fix what you did to me? You took a photo of me when I was covered in slime and in a compromising situation. You think that was funny?” Victoria almost screamed at him and walked away from the dance.

“Victoria! Victoria! Listen to me, please! I am sorry! Stop!” Alex finally got hold of Victoria.

“That day after the prank, I saw you cry in the bathroom, and I saw how distraught you were. At that moment, I realized what I had done. If you remember, from that point onwards, I never pranked anyone. I even tried talking to you after everything, but you shunned me off, and I deserved it. But trust me, I have changed for the better. Please forgive me,” Alex spoke with utmost sincerity.

Victoria then realized whatever he said was true. After that day, Alex never played any pranks and even stopped the ones who did.

“I will forgive you on one condition. You will take me out to coffee,” Victoria smiled.

“Done!” Alex let out a sigh of relief.

“You will need my number for it,” Victoria spoke, and Alex gave her his phone. She punched in the number and handed it back to him.

“Alex!” Someone called out.

“We are ending the night. Get in, both of you!” Elena said.

“Coming!” Alex replied.

“Let’s go.” With that, Alex started walking in, and Victoria stood there with a smile. Maybe he wasn’t that bad.

“Come, Victoria,” Alex spoke, and she nodded. Victoria walked towards the hall, and the second their eyes connected, they felt a spark. Maybe this was the start of their forever.
