Normal Life

Ten years ago, Anditya and Ia were blessed with a baby boy. But after around three years we discovered that Anup was born with intellectual disability. We took him to so many doctors but there was no cure to it. All the school in our area refused to give admission to him. As the life for a mentally challenged person is very difficult in India, we had no other choice but to leave India. It turned out to be the best decision of our life, we shifted to New Zealand & the life became so easy here. Anup now goes to normal school, moreover he has so many friends here, he is the lead Piano player of their school band. Me and Aditya are so happy seeing him living a normal life, which could have been so worse in India.

It's has been seven years and I have not been to India since then. I really want to go there and meet Mom, dad, siblings but the thought of how the people there will treat Anup, always restricts me. Yesterday While I was talking to my Mom over the phone, she asked me to send Anup to India. For a moment I became so happy but her next words pierced my heart. She told that she and dad will take care of Anup, while me and Aditya can plan for another baby and start a normal life. I disconnected the call by saying 'MOM HE IS OUR NORMAL LIFE'.
