Malgudi Days
Malgudi Days
' Swamy ', that small innocent-looking but naughty boy, I still remember watching him on TV every week. Malgudi a small town in south India, and those very close to real, kind of stories and all fabulous stars acting in that serial truly unforgettable. stories were written by R. K. Narayan and directed by Shankar Nag . . Pre - Independence period where English medium schools run by Britishers where Swamy was studying. Swamy had a big friend circle. though he looked very traditional in his traditional attire he and his friends would do many mischiefs and then come back home and pretend that nothing had happened. He will sit and talk and mix up with family would try and be normal. But if anybody comes to complain about Swamy, with proof about it, and if asked by his mother, the father he would not agree to it initially. But afterwords he had no choice but to apologize and promise that he would not do any mischief again. but every time he used to break his promise.
There is such a lot of innocence, dreams about all smaller things, and something Swamy always wanted to possess like other children in the village. and he would not forget about those things even in his dreams. But how the lack of money or resources would not allow him to possess those things as a child. his frustration, his passion to get something, his lure about those things, and that sadness and happiness if somehow if Swamy manage to fulfill his dreams, all that is seen in that child artist's eyes, his acting was so natural that his feeling could reach to the viewers. his frustration, he's crying, his jealousy, his dramas, and his lies. his good friends and his bad friends who were rich, how that small age child think, how he dares to do things without the knowledge of his elders at home. and some cunning people trying to take advantage of his innocence and his tendency to trust others and getting into trouble. and at the end telling truth to his mother and finding a solution to correct his mistake. all emotions, expressions, and day to day life of people and especially Swamy, around whom most of the stories were written all truly amazing to watch. all ages of people have enjoyed the stories of Malgudi Days.
Swamy's love for his family, his younger brother, his grandmother, and his parents. his friendships, his school, and his teachers. the ups and downs in his life, his excuses at school and with teachers, and his convincing power. his dreams and the way he tries and fulfills those dreams, but it could not fulfill dreams then show his frustration at home and then feel about his behavior with them. some wrong beliefs and wrong stories heard from friends and believed in that and got worried. all tales about a child from a middle-class family. his ways of gaining attention and lies to get love from grandmother and mother, who are so loving and supportive to Swamy always.
because these stories were so much near to common peoples' lives and their worries and deficiencies. also, the positive side showed the fun and happiness of Swamy and his friends. all small incidents and happenings were so much like real and so viewers have always waited to see Malgudi Days . one of the best serials of Doordarshan from old times.
