Maahir - Birth Of A New Maahi!

"Stop Maahi! At least eat something, it's been 3 hours you haven't had anything!", Maahi's mom said at the dinner table. 

Maahi was a 21-year-old dance enthusiast, for whom dance was above everything. Asleep, awake, eating, talking everywhere you would find her dancing. 

She was completely insane for dance. But her dad wasn't! 

Madhuri in dance was only supported by her mom. Her dad didn't find it a "respectable profession" to pursue and neither did he like her dancing all the time! 

"Please ask your daughter not to keep dancing every time, everywhere! She looks like a madwoman!", her dad exclaimed to her mom. 

"Okay", she said in a low voice. 

Soon, Maahi completed her graduation in literature and an extracurricular course dance. Although she had a degree in literature, she wanted to pursue a master's in dance as she had the advantage of dance being her sixth subject. 

But as it is said, destiny has its own plan! On one side where Maahi and her mom were busy applying for her masters in dance, her dad, on the other hand, had found a perfect match for her! Yes! Maahi's dad told them a day before the engagement was planned to happen. 

" Tomorrow is your engagement with Shekhar, your school friend whom you used to fight alot with. We had a word with each other and since they know you since childhood, they're ready for the proposal, I hope you both don't have any problem with it! Get ready tomorrow by 11, engagement is scheduled at 12". Her dad said and left! Maahi and her mom were left in shock! They still thought all that happened minutes before was a dream! But it was not! 21 year old was broken! She had realized it was an end to her career, her dream of becoming a dancer! In any case, she couldn't disobey her dad and hence agreed to him. 

Soon the engagement was done and so was the wedding. 

Madhuri who had dreamt of being a dancer was now a housewife. Shekhar's native place was Rajasthan and so soon the family shifted to Rajasthan. Maahi left the city and her dreams too. She was now addressed as "Bindani", as Rajasthani brides are. Soon time passed and Maahi adjusted in her new family. At the age of 24, she had given birth to her and Shekhar's first child. Yes, she was now a mom to a baby boy. The families were elated. New parents were also emotional. For Maahi, her family was complete that day. 

Soon the preparations for Namkaran began, and the kid was named "Maahir"- a mix of Maahi and Shekhar. 

Maahir was an apple of the eye for the family. He was given everything he wished for! But Maahi did not know what was store in the future for her and her family! It was Maahir's sixth birthday when came his talent! Yes! Like Maahi, Maahir was too an ardent dancer! He had dancing in his blood! Like Maahi in her childhood, danced all through the day, same way Maahir too danced like an insane. But his family did not like it! For them, like Maahi's dad, it wasn't a "Respectable profession", and especially when a boy goes for it! But this time, Maahi did not give up! 9 years ago, it was her dad who had turned a villain into her dream, but Maahi did not want this to happen with Maahir.

She didn't want that 15 years from today when Maahir turns 21, he is also forced to get married to his sometime classmate or pursue his career in engineering or doctor! Rather she wanted him to follow his path of dreams! At a tender age of 6, when some kids aren't able to walk properly, Maahir had started dancing! And this was something unbelievable and at the same time unexpected for Maahi. Like her mom, Maahi left no stone unturned for making Dance a career for Maahir and this time she was supported by her husband, unlike her mom's! 

Shekhar and Maahi put in all the efforts and managed to make Maahir a part of a number of reality shows and this fetched results too. In some, Maahir won, while in some he couldn't make it to even top ten, but in every show, he learnt something new. 

Maahi's family did not support her in her son's decision for her, but this didn't last long. 

20 years later, Maahir was now 26 and her mom was now 50. Even at this age, Maahi danced gracefully but what was more proud of her was, that her son was now a renowned choreographer!

Amongst all the family pressure and disapproval of his grandparents, Maahir still managed to scale heights. That day, not only Maahi and Shekhar but who was happier was Maahi's father! Yes! The man who once opposed dancing and found it an unrespectable career option, that day had tears in his eyes seeing his grandchild being appreciated so much for his dancing skills!

"I'm sorry Maahi, I wish I hadn't burnt your dreams that day!", he apologized with wet eyes and folded hands.

"No, dad! Don't be sorry, hadn't you had done that, Maahir wouldn't have been here and maybe had not been able to achieve what he has today!", " Whatever happened, happened for good Nanu!", Maahir interrupted in between and hugged him. 

That day, the family had united and Maahi's dead dreams were alive again!
