Love

It was like any other normal day. Hectic and tiring. It could have been a day with a difference. It could have been a romantic day with lots of love and flowers and chocolates and so much more. It was Valentine's evening and her birthday as well. A deep feeling of hurt ran through her chest as tears welled up in her eyes. Nobody remembered the date. Old memories flooded through her eyes. Had her parents been around, it would have been no less than an important festival! They would plan for the day much well in advance. She had been missing her parents a lot. Prem had been very busy and was out of town as usual. Nothing new! 

Little did she know that every relationship goes through ups and downs but only few sustain the pressure. But with parents around, life was always a roller coaster ride, heavenly bliss. Both her parents were no more and she felt she was the only being on this planet, at least today. She was in a very bad emotional upheaval.  

She had realised their value rather too late. She had never thought that she might lose them forever one day. She was so engrossed in her love for Prem that she never realised how much she had hurt them knowingly or unknowingly. How she wished that she could undo their hurt! She would assure them of her love and tell them more often how much she loved them! How she would never take them for granted anymore! She just closed her eyes and prayed for all the parents who were around their children for their long life. She just wished that the children who had parents around them realise how blessed they are. ०
