I and You

I still remember you. I still remember all the time that we have spent together. I still remember your winks, our handshakes. I still remember walking with you hand-in-hand almost daily. I still remember flying kites with you. I still remember eating pani-puri with you. I still remember telling you 'I love you' a gazillion times. I still remember every single word you have ever said to me. I still remember every single time you have ever been with me. I still feel the warmth that you radiated. Everything about you has never left me. It has stayed with me all these years.

I still remember eating food from your hands. I still remember your fragrance, your lovely black hair, your deep brown eyes. I still remember all the times when you cared about me, when you made me feel special. I still remember how we always tried to help each other out of our problems. I still remember every single secret that you have ever entrusted me with.

I still remember how we used to realize what was going on in each other's heart whether we spoke or not.

And now, destiny and distance both have played with us. You seem far, so very far that I feel like what I am feeling right now may not be able to reach you like it always would.

But, sometimes, you come into my dreams. And then, the distance between us becomes absolute zero. I feel your soul in mine, and my soul in yours. And when I wake up, I still have that sweet feeling in my chest, and I can almost smell your fragrance, feel your presence in me.

I hope that one day, we will meet again. One day, we will live together the life of our dreams. One day, we will play with each other like two little children obsessed with each other. Till then, just know that I love you.
