Sandy was a writer studying at a university in Nadiad. He lived in Ahmedabad and used to stay in a rented room in Nadiad. Occasionally, he would return home to spend holidays.

He had written many stories as a kid, but couldn't write many now, as most of his time was occupied by studies. "I need inspiration", he would tell himself.

It was Monday morning, after a week of holidays. And that meant Sandy would be going back to Nadiad from his home. He arrived at the bus stand and soon found himself on a GSRTC Bus, that would take him from Ahmedabad to Nadiad through the rural areas between the two cities.

The bus was jam-packed with people, as usual on a morning, and Sandy had just been able to get a seat. He looked around for inspiration for his writing, and his eyes wandered from person to person.

An old man asked for some water from a young man sitting beside him. The young man quickly gave him some water. The old man thanked him. It was a very simple and small act, but seemed to move Sandy. Another pair of men were discussing yesterday's cricket match. They were complete strangers because Sandy had seen them not talking to each other at the bus stand. And yet, here they were, united by cricket. Two girls sitting ahead of Sandy started chatting like old friends, and Sandy fell in love with the girly trait of instantly befriending other girls. But, soon they had to part since one girl's station came. They bade goodbyes to each other. Next, Sandy's eyes landed on a mother, who was pacifying her crying child. The child didn't stop crying, and then the mother started whispering in the child's ears. Soon, the child was laughing and hugging the mother. They both looked like the most beautiful mother and child to Sandy.

Sandy was deeply moved by what he saw. These were the people who were facing difficulties and struggled to earn a living in today's competitive world. And yet, these were the people who showed compassion. These were beautiful people. And he knew what to write about.
