I Am A Girl!

It was a dark morning at 5:45 am of winter in KSR, railway station Bangalore. I was standing waiting for the train’s arrival at 6 am, covering myself with a long coat, hand gloves and head scarf but still I was feeling cold and wanted to have a hot drink.

I looked back with a thought that who was in need water instead of hot tea or coffee after hearing a voice of a little girl “Didi, apke paas pani hai…?”. I got surprised after seeing a girl of aged 15 to 16 years was standing behind me, without covering herself with any winter cloth, looked very pale and weak and most surprised when I realized that she was carrying…in advance stage…! I took out my water bottle, gave her and asked whether she wanted to have a cup of hot tea…she said “”Yes”. I took her to the nearby tea stall, gave her a cup of tea and few biscuits. While having I asked her with whom she was here…was anyone with her to accompany her…She replied she was with her husband. I felt assured and left the place after suggesting her to sit down any where rather than standing, as she was carrying and in advance stage….!

I came back to my place and a thought of pettiness came to me thinking about how much pain she had to hold while travelling in a train with such a physical condition at such a tender age…because I was never in such condition in my life even though I was already 33 years old. The train came in time, I entered inside it and I took my upper berth seat as usual to lie down myself, because I feel very uncomfortable physically by sitting while in a train journey.
