Happy Ending. (Part One)

*In a search for the brightest one, in a crowd of stars, two of them being the brightest for each other meet once again*

"Hey, how are you?"

"I'm fine. How are you doing?"

"Oh well. Very well, in fact", he said, weeping an ocean inside.

 

"So...how has life been after...?"

"Just as it was," she said(trying to extend her smile)"except your presence."

Striking ego on her nerves, she said,"But that doesn't mean I am asking you anything".

"I know, I know it well," he said, "I don't deserve to be asked anything, at all. It's fine, really. And it's been six months already, I hope we've forgiven each other?"

Forgiven, she thought, only if there was something to forgive. I've drank coffee for all these days without taste of your lips. I've wanted to write poetry about us, but after each word, I have drowned in the spaces between those pretty words and you. Only if I could hate you, just a bit, I'd have loved myself more. Only if I could sleep well, the void now would always be full of tears. Only if I could be with you again, I'd breathe your breath.

"Of course", she replied, "in fact I was to be forgiven, did you forgive me?"

"Why would I carry wrath(when there wasn't one at all)for so long?" 

Long, she thought, seems to me like we were together yesterday.

 

"So, are you seeing anyone?"

"Not yet," she replied, "I've tried though.You?"

"Yes."

(Heart weighed with a cumbrous sadness)

"Oh...okay," her heart filled with a desperation to ask who but then ego stood up,"Good for you".

 

*With all the tears she had saved for the night, her eyes looked heavy and wet, and to not show any of its bit, hurriedly she waved goodbye and rushed past him, and finally wiping out every drops of heavy pain...*

 

"Wait", he shouted.

After a short silence, he began, "For one last time, will you swallow your pride and ego? For one last time,will you open up to me? For one last time, will you cry with me? You know what it feels to pretend to not care, when you are the only one I cry to the whole day and night. You know the feeling of waking up to "no notifications ". You know the cool chill when you finally are able to sleep in your wet pillow. You know everything that I know. You even know why we are in love and yet out of love. If the universe has planned this as our last meeting, what in all thankfulness to it, would be your last words to me?"

Weeping like a child, face wet and eyes red as a rose, she finally says something, "I love you".

 

"That is how we vowed and kept the promise of never separating and loving forever..."

"So, how you enjoyed?" 

Both their daughters sobbing with the tears of joy jumped and hugged each of them.

After a while, one of the daughter asks, "But why did you two take a break in the first place!" 

I'll tell you two about that the next time, he said.

Promise?

I promise.
