First Job

Getting the job of an English teacher in a high school was like a dream come true!

I had always wanted to earn my own money rather than being dependent on anyone. But I got married when I was doing my graduation at the age of 21 followed by the birth of my son within a year. 'No chance of getting a job! ' This was my feeling as I was too involved in nurturing my child and doing household chores.

But I continued to pursue my M.A. through a correspondence course from Bombay University.

I could manage a high second class. By this time I had already realised that for a mother of three-year-old the best job would be to become a teacher. Hold your child's hand and go to school with him and again hold his hand and come home with him.

With this motto, I thought to take up a professional degree in B. Ed. I gave an entrance exam for this course, completed my B. Ed. and applied for a job in the school where Puchu was already admitted. Indore Public School. And immediately I was selected to teach classes 8,9 and 10. This was truly a dream come true.
