The First Meet..

Aarthy was at her last duty hours on a busy day at the medical college The baby born by caesarean section did not cry at birth She had to do an aggressive resuscitation to revive the baby and thus the busy day turned into a reliving day.

Dr Aarthy, Senior Resident paediatrician, Is the baby ok?? A mature voice echoed across the theatre.

She smiled with glad and said " Yes, madam all went good" to her senior colleague Dr Geetha, Professor Department of Gynaecology.

A busy day that ends well is a fairy tale that is less experienced Aarthy greets her parents at the reception lounge, she is pleased to hug her mom and dad, almost after a span of six months But this time, she's nervous, as she is about to meet her friend's brother in law for matters of marriage pursuits Mrs Murthy ( Aarthy's mom) remarked "Our traditions are much different", but Seshu mama (family astrologer )has good fortune saying for you and Akash We must meet their family once if you like him after the meet, uttered Mr Murthy (Aarthy's dad).

Aarthy is dumbstruck, she is going to meet an anonymous guy, known to her collegemate She is amazed, how this traditional south with cosmopolitan north alliance would merge in the name of marriage.

Aarthy is as usual in her traditional looks, dressed in a saree waiting for Akash at the coffee shop.

She has seen his couple of photos, shown to her by her friend Within a minute, a soft voice from behind, calling her name" Hi Aarthy, "This is Akash here, How are you doing? Aarthy greeted him and replied "Hi, Akash I am doing well With the coffee mugs placed on the table  the exchange of words too warmed up.

Akash: I know, my bhabhi ( Archana, Aarthy's friend) would have spoken about me to you.

In short, I am a practical person living a simple life and would like my partner to be the same.

Aarthy: I am practical too and yes I lead a simple life too.

Akash: I am a passionate traveller, and would like to travel with you in future.

Aarthy: I am a passionate Kathak dancer and would like to pursue the same in future.

Akash: Yes, of course, you can live with your dreams but ours is a joint family and you may have to relocate to Lucknow if it's ok with you.

Aarthy: That's ok I am the only daughter of my parents and would love to live in a joint family.

Akash: That's great Good to know.

Aarthy: I would like to pursue super speciality studies too after marriage.

Akash: That's fine We encourage studies Good to know you.

( After a brief silence of a few minutes).

Akash: Nice evening great conversation will catch you soon Akash leaves the coffee shop.

Aarthy calls her parents who are anxiously waiting for her call to know about the meeting.

Aarthy expresses her formal meeting was far more than she expected and that Akash sounds to be a decent guy.

But the thoughts of difference in language, culture and traditions echo in her mind What if the differences emerge significant in due course of time??

What if the once in a lifetime decision struggles between the conflicts of beliefs??

What if the differences in eating habits, living styles paves way for lack of understanding??

She needs more clarity and maturity from Akash before she could move ahead.

She has heard from her friend, Archana ( Akash's bhabhi) that Akash is a kind-hearted, humble, down to earth person who is sponsoring a child's education.

The next day, her friend Archana insisted that she should speak with Akash to put an end to her insecurities

Akash and Aarthy had a couple of conversations about the future and the willingness to adapt, support, build, encourage, understand, care, promote, preserve, uplift each other's needs and desires.

They understood that the difference is with the perspective we see, comprehend and live.

If one feels the genuineness nested within all other minor diversities diverge away only to make us realise the love for each other.
