Expect The Unexpected
Expect The Unexpected
Dear Diary,
I was wondering how predators' mindset works. How do they know the right things to say to their potential prey? This reminds me of an incident -
Brajesh was from the Film Industry. When he was partying one evening he set his eyes on a lady who was sitting on the far side of the room just opposite to him. Their eyes met. It was a magical moment. As the evening progressed, they met again on the dance floor and slowly the distance between them reduced.
Finally, he introduced himself to her, "Hi, I am Brijesh, and I am from the movie industry". The lady said, "Hi, I am Mamta, I am a single mom". Brijesh then went on to explain, " What a coincidence, I am a divorcee from Bangalore and I have a daughter who lives with her mother."
They then set the dance floor on fire. They seemed to be lost in their new world together. Later they exchanged their numbers and he promised to meet her again soon and parted ways.
The friends who were with Mamta were not happy at what they saw. On the way back from the club they warned her against "Filmy people". Mamta thought it made sense and decided to block him from her contacts and her world to be on the safer side.
After a month, she received a phone call in the middle of the night. "Is this Mamta?", a voice asked. Mamta said, "yes, who is this?" rubbing her eyes. She heard someone on the other side, "Boss, your girl is on the line, talk to her." Then she was surprised to hear the "Hello", it was Brijesh. She was about to hang up when Brijesh requested her to tell her why he was blocked when they had such a good time that evening. He kept insisting she stay online and they spent the whole night talking to each other on the phone.
Soon, Brijesh found out where she lived and worked and landed up at her workplace and insisted she meets him. As she wanted to avoid an embarrassing scene at the office she met him and quickly promised to meet him after work and ran back to her office. Brijesh waited outside the office the whole day and had the biggest smile on his face when he saw her step out of the office. He started following her wherever she went. He took very good care of her and her friends.
Mamta liked the attention she was getting but was scared too. Brijesh started picking her up from the office regularly in his luxury car. Just a week later, he proposed marriage to her with a diamond ring. Mamta felt it was all too soon and refused the ring. Brijesh was heartbroken. He said he will wait for her to say yes and won't leave her till she is convinced about his intentions. He kept pursuing her.
Mamta finally gave in after weeks of convincing from his friends, his colleagues and himself. Brijesh took them all to a 5-star hotel and gave a lavish party to celebrate their "engagement". Soon after, they were in a full-blown affair. One day Brijesh said, "Mamta lets get married this December, can you check on the dates suitable for our wedding. I cannot stay away from you."
Mamta was thrilled. She soon introduced her family to Brijesh. Her parents were not too impressed nor were her daughter but she kept persuading them to give him a chance. Soon, Brijesh started visiting them and planning for the wedding. December came but Brijesh said that he was stuck with some personal commitment and that they have to postpone the wedding plans. As Mamta was totally smitten by Brijesh, she readily agreed.
Brijesh's movie was nearing completion. Mamta was anxiously waiting for its release as she was hoping he will introduce her officially to all on that day. That day soon came. Brijesh did not mention anything about the launch party or give her any details about the movie release. Mamta was sad but still hopeful. But Mamta was not invited.
The next day the newspaper carried the article of the release with his picture. In the photo, he was cutting a cake along with his wife and daughter. It was such a shock to Mamta. Her world came crumbling down. All her dreams and hopes of a happily ever after was crushed and she felt dead from the inside. It slowly dawned on her that Brijesh had used her.
There are so many women like Mamta who look for true love and end up losing even their dignity. I urge women to be self-sufficient. We are Shakti and we are complete in ourselves. We do not need anyone to complete us. What do you think?
I am grateful I have good people in my life who guide me and keep me rooted in goodness. Thank you for all the good influences!
