Everything For Him - Part 10

Everything For Him - Part 10

One day has passed and even today I am still exchanging blows with myself to come up with a prolific idea which can fit into this job search theme of our client jobversity. Time is ticking fast, the pressure is building up and I don't understand why my mind has come to a standstill. My mother always used to tell me that I had a creative imagination, but I don't understand why my skills are not coming to my rescue.

Yesterday I went shopping along with Sandhya for my birthday. This time she had selected a floral print silk light purple gown. By the time I reached home it was already eleven in the night and later I tried searching on the internet for advertisements of all leading job portals. But still I couldn't draw out any ideas.

I started in my car heading towards the office. I connected my mobile to the music player in my car. Sometimes the music speaks of what you feel inside. It's not the song that makes you feel emotional. It's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it. As I listened to one sad romantic song while driving in my car, I could visualize my entire life entwined with it. Right now, I am stuck between trying to live my life and trying to run away from it.

I reached a little early today. After parking my car in the basement I took the elevator and reached my office on the tenth floor. As I settled down in my seat my thoughts once again went astray. It's exhausting to fight a war inside your head every single day.

I have only six days remaining and there are pressures from Sheela, Rahul, idiot Vishal and last but not the least our very CEO Mr. Muralidhar.

In an hour, I have an overview session with Mr. Muralidhar and the rest of the directors along with Rahul, Sheela and Vishal. No one ever had anything remotely interesting to discuss in those meetings. It usually entails Mr.Muralidhar spewing out brainstorming ideas until Prashanth from the demographic research team fell asleep and banged his head on the table, everyone's cue that another boring meeting was over.

I took my place at the glass conference table and sat down.

'Good Afternoon everyone!' said Mr.Muralidhar who seemed to be extremely animated today which is very rare. 'Today, I have a surprise for all of you.'

Surprise? What kind of a surprise can we have here? Is Sheela going to be the next delivery lead?

'For more than fifteen years, our ASM industries have provided many successful advertising and promotional campaigning ideas for our clients. Today you are going to experience an epochal shift. We are going global! Without delaying further, I feel happy to inform you our ASM Industries is merged with an American based GoldWin Advertising Services. And we will be having the Vice President of Indian Operations joining us soon, he can be anytime here today...' As he completed saying that a man dressed in Blue Suit entered the room. Everyone including me turned towards the new person.

This is impossible! My jaw dropped as I looked over him. He is the same person I met on January 1st at the supermarket. He is Jayanth. He looked even more handsome in his navy blue suit. He had a clean shaven face with a neat hairstyle. His eyes were gleaming in a seductive hue of blue and I couldn't take my eyes off his lips or that smile.

Is it real or am I hallucinating? I looked at his face again. No need for any second thought, it is Jayanth standing right in front of me. Just yesterday, I thought about him and today he landed straight in front of me. This appeared like that one kind of a moment where impossible has become possible.

'So Ladies and Gentleman!' Mr.Muralidhar continued, 'Meet Mr. Jayanth Kumar, the Vice President of Indian Operations for GoldWin Advertising. Mr. Jayanth, it is all yours now.'

Everyone stood and clapped as Jayanth walked into the center. Jayanth nodded his head at each and every one of us. He looked at me but I didn't see any excitement on his face. Maybe he doesn't remember me.

His lips curved into a gentle polite smile and he began to speak. 'It's an honor to be here today. And as Mr.Muralidhar has already mentioned from now on you are employees of GoldWin Advertising. In short we will be going through a restructuring phase. We're going to be shaking a few things up over the coming weeks by hiring new talent.'

What are you going to do? Just fire everyone and start over?

He then looked at me. 'Not to worry though, no one is losing a job.'

Whoa! Once again! He seems to be the hacker of minds...

'Soon… we're about to sign four major clients and we want to make sure our marketing team is as strong as it can possibly be. I'll turn things back over to you now, Mr. Muralidhar in case you wish to give your farewell speech…' Jayanth walked around the table and took a seat directly across from me.

Our creative director Sheela who was sitting next to him blushed bright pink. It appears she will not leave any stone unturned in gathering his attention. Everyone was on their best behavior for a change. People were participating in the brainstorming session and contributing ideas instead of scrolling away on their phones or looking out the windows. I contributed whenever I was called.

I looked at my watch every five seconds, hoping the meeting would come to an end so I could jump up and meet Sandhya to inform her about Jayanth. I thought that there had to be something wrong with me. I couldn't believe I was actually fantasizing about a man who met me just three days ago. I thought he was a student, but I was wrong in my assumption. But I am damn sure his age would be somewhere around twenty-five to twenty-six.

For the first time in my life I am experiencing the in-explainable. Just yesterday I thought about him and today he landed straight before me. I am afraid to admit that I am happy because whenever I get too happy, something bad always happens.

The meeting came to an end an hour later, without Prashanth's head banging as a gavel, and everyone made a move for the door. I leapt out of my chair and squeezed between Rahul and Sheela. Rahul immediately stepped out and as soon as I was out of the room my legs took me straight to Sandhya.

'Sandhya, can we go out for a coffee? I have something important to tell you?' I pulled her out of her place without even waiting for her reply.

'What happened to you? Did Vishal create any mess inside?'

'Let's go down. I will make everything clear. We got a new boss!'

'You are joking right?'

'Please come down! I will tell you everything!' I pulled her from the chair and went down.

In a matter of minutes we reached the Araku Coffee Palace with my hands wrapped around a warm soothing cup of coffee and sipping it bit by bit, I explained to her everything about what happened in the meeting.

Sandhya was amazed to listen about the sudden change in company's leadership. It came as a big surprise for both of us.

'It is astonishing how short a time it can take for very wonderful things to happen. Miracles are strange and undefinable. When you set your heart on something that you deeply want, nothing can stop you from bringing it into fruition.'

'What do you mean by setting heart on something?'

'See Ananya! Something that has happened which we thought will never happen is always interesting because as we know there are certain elemental forces which we think we know but in reality we don't believe in them unless things like these happen. Is it still not clear?' She took a sip.

'No!' I said shrugging my shoulders.

'Ananya! The miracle has come in the form of Jayanth. And you must accept it. God has answered your prayers.'

'No Sandhya! I am not convinced. This is not a miracle, just a mere coincidence,' I still lacked the confidence as I don't see anything impacting in my life as of now.

'You should learn to recognize answers to your prayers. It is not just a coincidence. Jayanth and you are having a supernatural connection. Yesterday you told me you will believe in miracles if you come across Jayanth once again. And now you are completely changing your words.'

'If Jayanth has come, does it mean that there will be any changes in my life? I have to still go through the days the same as I used to live before.'

'Sanjana, spiritually speaking, it is said that even before you were born, the name of your spiritual half has been determined. Each soul has a perfect match, your soulmate.'

'Of course I already met one, and he is Raghav.'

'Raghav is not your soulmate. Soulmates are meant to exist forever. They simply don't leave you in between,' she paused and took the last sip of her cup.

'Okay! So you are thinking that Jayanth is going to be my soulmate. Let me make one thing clear. He is aged somewhere between 25-28. To the worst let's take 29. Which means he is practically thirty! He is eleven years younger than me? Wait, twelve years younger by tomorrow. When he was eight years old I was nineteen and in college. By the time he reached nineteen and trying to figure out what major he wanted to pick up, I got married, divorced and even started a career.'

'There are a lot of examples in history which have proven that love knows no ages. Miracles have already started in your life Ananya! Your life is going to change from now! Stop thinking about Raghav. You don't understand you have lost yourself trying to hold on to someone who didn't care about losing you.'

'I just don't want to discuss anything more about it! Please don't try to evoke feelings for him! I don't want to get attached to anyone anymore as it only destroys me in the end!' I said and glanced at the television. It was showing a video in which a group of men are having a camel race in Dubai deserts. 'Sandhya, camels are called the ship of the desert right?'

'Yes, but why are you asking that irrelevant question?'

'Eureka! I got the idea.'

'What idea? Will you take Jayanth for a camel race?'

'No stupid! I got the idea for our ad. Let's go to the office!'
