Karen looked at her watch after hearing the siren of the police. This time they had taken more than twenty minutes to reach the crime scene. Of course it was Christmas Eve so the streets were overcrowded than usual and everyone had turned deaf ears to the siren's howling. Hence, their late arrival was justified. Karen was red with fury. She was the first person to see the girl falling down from the towering Baldwin's business enclave. Also she was the last person to see the dead girl breathe.

Karen, furious and queasy approached the police inspector who she failed to recognize immediately said, "I sincerely apologize madam. It's just been two days since I was transferred to this city and I am still adjusting with the duties." this was not the first time Karen had witnessed accidents or deaths. And somehow she was always the first person to inform the police about it. Since the previous year she has witnessed accidents, crimes, murders, suicide on loop; that now she had become familiar and habitual with the process of either calling the police to catch the criminal or the ambulance if the victim has not their last breath. Mr. Roberts was the police in charge she had got to know due to the occurrence of mishaps on looked by her, who had been transferred to another city and Mr. Jenson had now taken over.

The next forenoon she found herself at her residence, waking up on her cozy bed. She wondered in bewilderment and tried to recollect how she reached her home from the fourth street, below the Baldwin's business enclave apparently the crime scene, the former night. She started interrogating her family members

who had their helpless and clueless countenances put on. When suddenly her eyes fell upon the calendar hanging in the drawing room and discerned the date to be 25th December, the day of the court's trial. Then she straight away glanced at the watch ringing to be 11:15 am and hurried to get ready and escort for the trial scheduled forty five minutes later.

Karen along with her husband set their feet in the courtroom just in time. Her heart was thumping loud and rapid as it was the day when Karen was about to testify how her daughter died exactly a year before. The prosecution commenced. Karen who had longed for this moment since the day she lost her daughter, finally had her hopes raised in her heart for justice.

The judge opened his mouth to begin the trial, "Susan Baker was found dead on the night of 24th December, 2020 at the fourth street below the Baldwin's business enclave. Her death had been speculated as a suicide during the investigation carried out by Mr. David Roberts but the victim's family demanded for reinvestigation for the latter. Mrs. Karen Baker - Karen stood up enthusiastically upon hearing her name. "- who was supposed to testify today won't be able to do so as her medical reports handed to me prove that she is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Delusional Disorder. Therefore, anything she would state today would be considered invalid and not help us proceed further with the case." Karen, stunned, sat down after getting acquainted with her own truth concealed from her. She felt miserable and was dejected as the only eye witness to Susan's death, could not testify that day.
