Anisha eagerly waited for the cricket classes to begin after putting many efforts on choosing new tracksuits, .T-shirts, and shoes. The T-shirt she chose had the wordings ‘ be the best version of you’ and she wanted to become that.

Finally, the day arrived. The first day of her credit class. The coach asked everybody to run two rounds and gave warm-up exercises. And then, he asked “how many of you had played sports in your school? Be it any sport.” Hardly 10 girls raised their hands out of 50 to 60 girls. ‘Throwball, kho -kho, volley ball, girls answered one by one. Then he looked at Anisha, ‘”kho – kho”, she said. There was no other choice, her inner voice joined in.

After a few minutes of break, the coach asked to bat whoever was interested. All Sachin fans stepped forward first to take a strike. He was instructing them on how to hold a bat correctly in ‘v’ shape. Almost after most of the girls batted, she took her turn, stood in front of the middle stump and tapped her bat to face the first ball. He stopped her there, “wait! Have you played cricket before? You’re holding the bat correctly. ”

”Only on the streets, sometimes”, she gave a subtle reply.

“Join the cricket team tomorrow.”, he told just like that.

She never thought joining a cricket team would be that easy. But she had no idea what was in store for her.
