Count Your Blessings

I worked as an Adhoc Teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Visakhapatnam from July 2002 to March 2003. Knowing well that my tenure would come to an end by March 2003, I had no choice except to explore further options. In this process, sometime in Jan 2003, I had come across an advertisement in THE HINDU for teachers from a residential school in Anand, Gujarat. Without a second thought, I had applied and received a call for the preliminary round of interview at Chennai. 

I had been to the interview and never realized that Dr Anita Verma, a member of the interview panel would become the greatest mentor of my life. Eighteen years of my association with her in different capacities has transformed both my career in particular and life in general to such an extent that I have become the most invaluable employee of any organization I worked with. It is no exaggeration if I say that her life as a leader in the education sector is a great message not just for me but for many more.

Today when I count my blessings, I realize that almost all my prayers have been answered and I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Dr.Anita Verma for her untiring efforts to uplift the lives of not only me but many who worked under her leadership. Undoubtedly it is a dream come true for me and I cannot imagine how my career would have been without her and a few things which I learnt from her and always carry with me would be her enchanting smile and unconditional positive regard towards everyone. I wish to dedicate these lines to the greatest mentor of my life Dr.Anita Verma.
