Classmates

                  There was a reputed school in a small town. There were three students sitting on the last bench in their class. They were good friends during their school journey. They got separated from each other after their higher secondary school board examination due to their personal problems with heavy heart. One of them was good in mathematic, hence he decided to do graduation in science with mathematics where as other friend went for biology due to poor performance in mathematics. Another friend decided to join the job oriented courses so that he would help his family financially as an ounce protection was worth a pound cure. Though they were not in the same college, but they used to meet often still their graduation. They had affinity toward their friends as well as native place. There were the soil son having the emotions as well as attachment with the birth-place. One of them was shifted to a big city for his higher education after graduation. Fortunately, he got government job as soon as he had completed his post graduation in science. After just few years, he was transferred to another state. So he get shifted with his family at new place. Other two friends also got job in different state government offices working in the different cities in the their home state. Both of them got married as journey of thousand miles begin with single step. They were totally engaged in their married life responsibilities. Neither it was the age of mobile like today nor the chief landline for keeping themselves in touch. The only way of communication was face to face meeting or writing letters. Since they were at different locations very far from each other, they couldn’t meet with each other for long period. Hence their friendship almost finished physically as long absent, soon forgotten. Everybody was struggling for better life style as per their capacity. They already set the goal of their life. They made hay when sun was shining in their life.

                

 Arun had daughter and younger son whose life partner was house wife. Gunvant had two son and shreekant’s family resembled to Arun except both of them having teacher as life partner by profession. They had also seen many transfers in their service in the same zone. Fortunately all of them were in same city in the retirement decade. All of them constructed their own dream house in different location in the same city. But they weren’t aware of this fact due to broken communication in the past among them. Though they were out of site, but they didn’t out of mind. They hadn’t broken the umbilical cord with their birthplace as well as their childhood friends.

                   Incidentally, Shrikant saw his old friend Gunvanta in a mall in the same locality. They recognized each other. They felt happy embracing each other as absences makes heart grow fonder. They inquired about each other and remained in contact thence. They used to meet frequently. There was a curiosity between them to find out their third beloved friend who was missing since segregation. Where there is will, there is way. One day, Gunvanta went to his native place for some domestic work to his elder brother. Coincidently, his brother’s friend came to him where he met with Gunvanta.. While talking with him, he just inquired about his friend Arun. Gunvanta told him that Arun wasn’t in his contact since long back. Fortunately he had his mobile number with him. Incidentally he got the Arun’s mobile. He had come back to the city to give surprise to Shreekant. Both of them were very happy and eager to make contact with their beloved friend. Arun was really surprised from the call from his school friends. He didn’t believe on the received call. They talked with him one by one. It was really a miracle event for all of them. They were so eager to meet with each other. Arun invited them to his home. It was agreed to meet on next coming Sunday. All of them were joyful, enthusiastic as they were going to be re-united again which was their old dream. though they were separated bodily, but not by heart. There was wet friendship plant in their heart which was watered time to time by recalling old memories in their spare time. 

                  There were awaiting for coming Sunday. Arun told his wife about school friends. He narrated all past wonderful stories and memories about his nearest classmates cum childhood friends to her wife. She said to him that she would like to welcome his friends on lunch. She suggested him to inform them for lunch well in advance. There was call on fixed Sunday by his friends. they told him that they would be coming late afternoon as Shreekant had got some unavoidable urgent work in the morning. He gave him assurance about their confirmed arrival as decided.

                He was waiting for his friends in the afternoon. They reached to him as per sent location to them. They came out from their car after parking. There wasn’t any large change in their present and past appearances. They hugged each other before moving inside the home. It was very exciting moment for them. They thanked the nature for giving an opportunity to meet with their missing friends. They exchanged their old memories with each other while taking refreshment. They appreciated his wife for wonderful preparation of  variety of items in snack. They spent their time in remembering all possible events related to their school life which were enjoyed by them.

              There was crystal clear happiness on their faces. They decided that they would meet with other friends soon. They were determined for arranging a grand function in their school at their native place so that rest of the classmates would meet with each other in arranged function.
