Best Friends

The shop was already crowded when these 2 friends entered. It took 5 minutes to get the spot. They walked through the people and finally reached the counter.

“Bhayya can you show me the green dupatta.” Anjali asked the shop keeper.

The shop keeper didn’t listen to her as he was busy with the other customers.

“Bhayya….” Anjali called again.

“Madam 2 minutes” and returned back to the old customer.

“Anjali did you ask him?” Neha questioned her.

“Yes he said 5 minutes”.

The shop keeper returned to them after 10 minutes. “Tell me madam”

“Bhayya I need green dupatta” Anjali said when the shop keeper asked her.

“Madam dupattas are in that section” he said showing the opposite counter.

“We are waiting here from 10 minutes”

“madam there are so many customers and…..” he tried to explain when Neha yelled.

Both went to the opposite counter. There he showed many kinds of dupattas.

"Bhayya not this shade the light green” Anjali said the specifications.

“I am hungry let’s go” Neha started walking out of the store.

“5mins yaar let me check this” Anjali didn’t move.

“You can buy later come on” she grabbed Anjali’s hand and went out of the shop.

Both of them went into the nearest restaurant.

“Why didn’t you let me check the dupatta?”

“Which dupatta?” Neha asked her while seeing the menu card.

“The green one in the shop Neha.” Anjali said seriously

“Am hungry and you are wasting my time with….”

“Am not, am trying to match it”

“by the way you don’t like green Anjali, so why you want to buy it” Neha questioned.

“Of course I don’t like green but it suits with the dress”

“Which dress?” Neha asked looking around.

“You better order something you mind is not working at all.” Anjali know that Neha is not at all listening to her. She also knows that Neha doesn’t concentrate on anything if she is hungry.

“Yeah, let’s eat then we will decide” after lunch 2 girls went back to the store.

When they entered the shop the shop keeper showed them the variety of dupattas.

“I told you already Anjali, green is not your colour”

“I think this is ok” Anjali placed the green dupatta on her shoulder.

“Orange is your colour” Neha showed the orange dupatta.

“Orange…..really Neha I don’t like orange.” Neha replaced the green dupatta with orange from Anjali’s shoulder.

“Even I don’t like orange but look at yourself you don’t look okay you look……” Anjali looked at herself in the mirror when Neha paused. “You are trying to ruin my dress Neha”

“Are you mad why will I do that?” They argued for 15 more minutes. “Anjali trust me green is better than orange" Anjali couldn’t say no to her friend so she took what Neha selected.

“You are really stubborn Neha you made me to take the orange one”

“Of course am stubborn” Neha said while browsing the phone.

“What are you doing? Am talking to you Neha” Anjali yelled at her.

“You have many dupattas why do you need a new one?” both started arguing on the road.

“I don’t want to shop with you anymore” Neha took the shopping bags and started walking.

Anjali followed her. “Neha wait” she screamed.

“What?” Neha stopped walking when Anjali called her. “Check your wallet idiot you don’t even have a single penny in it” Neha smiled when Anjali said.

They walked silently for few minutes “by the way his favorite color is orange” Neha said suddenly. “What?’’ Anjali didn’t understand.

“His favorite color’’ Neha showed his FB account to her.

Anjali looked at her and “I like him Neha”

“I know and I think orange is better”

“yeah” she said when Neha winked.

“You are going on a date and you didn’t tell me’’ Neha questioned.

“Oh it’s not a date all my team is going’’.

“Whatever Anjali.”

“This is for you” Anjali showed the dress.

“Really”

“Yeah how can I go without you”

Shopping started again. Best friend knows you more than you know yourself. Best friends are always the best friends.
