Sidharth and his friends were in the final year of college. Before leaving college, they planned a trip to Ooty.

They reached Ooty by bus. As it was already 1 pm, they reached first their hotel and took their lunch. Then after an one hour break, they started their visit.

First they went to the Botanical Garden. Laid out in 1848, the Gardens are divided into several sections covering an area of around 55 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak. The garden has a terraced layout and are maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department.

The Gardens have around a thousand species, both exotic and indigenous, of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees, herbal and bonsai plants.In the centre of the Gardens there is a fossilized tree trunk which is estimated to be 20 million years old. The Gardens consist of several lawns with flowering plants, ponds with lilies, beds of flowers and ferns laid out in an Italian style, several plots of flowering plants, a variety of medicinal plants.

Then they visited the Government Rose Garden located in the heart of Ooty. It is one of the largest rose gardens in India and also a popular tourist attraction. The beautiful garden is spread across 10 acres of land and houses some of the largest collections of roses in the country including miniature roses.

Then they returned to their hotel. Next day they went to take the Lake and boat ride.The boathouse, which adjoins the lake was opened by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC). Boating is the prime attraction at the lake. The boat house offers boating facilities with Paddle boats, Row boats, and Motor boats and also features a garden, a mini train and an amusement park.The other notable features include a canteen run by the TTDC and pony rides in front of the boat house.

Other fun activity inside Ooty lake Mini train especially for kids 7D cinema Horror and Mirror House cost Dashing car Break-dance and Columbus.


Full day was spent in this. The next day they visited the Deer park,the Wax museum and the Doddabetta peak view points.It is a popular tourist attraction with road access to the summit. It is the fourth highest peak in South India next to Anamudi, Mannamalai and Meesapulimala.There is an observatory at the top of Doddabetta with two telescopes available for the public. It was opened on 18 June 1983 and is run by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC). The average number of viewers in 2001-2002 was 3500 per day in season and 700 per day in the off-season.

After spending the night in a hotel, Sidharth and his friends returned back; bringing with them the memories of a beautiful Ooty trip.
