A Suspicious Tattoo

“Heh! Chaitrali, my boyfriend is going to kill me if I bear his child. I don’t want to abort the baby. Please save me,’’ a voice came. The phone was dead.

 Chaitrali recognized the voice of her best friend-Riya. Her heart raced at tremendous speed. When she went to Riya’s house, she saw Riya lying on the back. Eyes shut and blood flowing from her head. Chaitrali moved closer to Riya, noticing a tattoo drawn on her neck, ‘Rohan’ calligraphed and a heart drawn around it. Chaitrali moves her fingertips pressing the nerve. But, no blood was pumping. She quickly informed the police about the incident.

Chaitrali wakes up, sighing heavily. A sob emerged through her body. Nightmares of a true incident. A week has passed. It was nine a.m. She remembered that today is her father’s birthday, intentionally forgetting the incident in a nightmare. Gently walking towards her father’s room, opening the door and yelling - ” Many, many happy returns of the Day” in happiness. Her father turned from the mirror towards Chaitrali. His entire body was wet, he had taken a bath.

Replying shirtless,”Thank You! But please knock on the door before entering”.

Chaitrali replied,” Okay” in an unpleasant tone. She moves her view over her father’s shoulder in the mirror. Taking a look at the back of her father. Noticing the same tattoo, which was on Riya’s neck, but written ‘Riya’ instead of ‘Rohan’.
