I was in front of the Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica in Fort Kochi, Kerala.

It was a fine morning of December when I reached the entrance of the Basilica. It was not the first time I'm seeing, still the outer appearance of the Church itself astonished me. This church is one of the finest and most impressive churches in India and visited by tourists the whole year round. It is a place of devotion as well as a center of historic significance, endowed with architectural and artistic grandeur and colours of the Gothic style. It was built originally by the Portuguese and elevated to a Cathedral by Pope IV in 1558. I took some pics out and move ahead to reach the main gate. I could see several explorers outside and inside the Church. Travel guides were explaining the history and architectural importance of the Church and i could see how amazed they are, in their facial expressions. At that moment I felt more proud to be in the Land of Architectural speciality.

I slowly move inside the Cathedral. My first sight fall on the painting of the Last Supper of Jesus which was on the ceiling. The church was fully wooden furnished and it was well maintained as well. I saw some sculptures on b

oth the sides, one of Holy Mary and another one of Saint Antony.

While I turned around I could see one the explorer coming inside with a decorative cap. It was noticed by the priest and he kindly asked the person to remove the cap. The person paid his apologies to the priest and removed his cap. On seeing this a Muslim boy, who was enjoying the architectural beauty, suddenly removed his religious cap. On seeing this, the priest rushed near to him, pulled that cap on his hand and put it over his head. He said, "This church is a holy place, in the meanwhile your cap is also equally holy to us and you don't need to remove this off". Those words were like the words of an Angel like we see in some movies. I wish to speak with the priest, but unfortunately it was the time of the morning prayer, so he went off. I attended the prayer and my wish to God was little bit silly. I prayed God to produce or mould people with good mindset from his factory, like the Priest in that Church. I came out of the church with a fully refreshed mind

That's how the special day left me with a long lasting memory. I wish each and every people in this world to respect others, no matters their beliefs. Be UNITED by HUMANITY rather by RELIGION.
