The old widow lady siting on the chair is my beloved and revered mother whose paternal name is Swarnaprava Acharya and after marriage her name changed as Sudhamayee Panda. She had hailed from a well reputed and benevolent land lord family belonged to village Sidhal, via Kaduapada, Jagatsinghpur, Odisha. Her father's name was Bauribandhu Acharya, the land lord of that village. He came to our family as a bride during the year 1951 at the age of 15 years old. She during her tenure had delivered 8 nos of sons and 2 nos of daughters in toto. First son had died prematurely at the age of only  10 month and residues are now alive among whome I am the eldest one.

She had struggled a lot during her conjugal and life against her temperament in a bigger joint family like us with a great sacrifice to rear us up. Amid every odd situation she always used to smile in spite of being under all the adversities in her life. Even now being an octogenarian lady she is most of time laughing spending a peaceful life among her grand children at Agrahat with evergreen juvenile spirit. Though hearing trouble she has but no eyesight trouble. She was a tremendous betel chewer and tea taker previously. But after undergoing two minor surgical operation i e., Stone and prolapsed uterus, she minimized her tea and pan intake.

Regarding my mom's hobbies and character I can narrate that she is an amiable, well feeder, well cook, positive minded, master in harmonium playing, a fine singer of classic Odia and Hindi songs, a well disciplined domestic worker, a dramatist, a lover of mankind, a delicious cook at home, an expert dice and card player, bagatelle carrom, badminton, ping pong, ring ball player. She is highly interested in TV viewing and music listening. She likes always to view open staged operas even now. She was also a voracious reader of detectives novels, stories and Bhagwat Geeta, Ramayana etc. during her young age. As per my father's advice she did not read Mahabharat at home. She is an old Matriculate in Odia medium. But due to old age she has given up all of her hobbies and likings except viewing Television shows at home.

On this auspicious Mothers Day today I remember my sweet and loving who was everyday feeding me fondly with her own hand till the end of my High School Career. Since my childhood she was always putting handmade kajal in my eyes up to my college career. Moreover she brought me with so fondling that until when I was 7 years old often she was spreading news paper below her stretched folded legs whereon I was easying myself just like latrine. After my latrine was over she used to wrap the paper containing the nightsoil discharged by me and was throwing it into the municipality drain. She was my so loving mom.

However, I feel myself so lucky that I have got such fondling mom who is still laughing merrily after struggling hard life long which is a divine gift to her. We have now only having two cordial members of our large joint family, my mom and aunty(khudi) and we have lost all our elders viz. Grandparents, father and kakei (uncle) wherefore we the children now feel as if the orphans of a orphanage. As older and older, my mom and aunty grow, so we feel more sadder and sadder day by day thinking over their date of expiry fixed by Almighty the Great. Today on the Mothers Day some nostalgia engrossed my mind for which I dare to represent before my FB friends at random during stay home.
