A Mother's Heart

   Once upon a time, a landlord named Ghanashyam was residing in a village named Haripur. He had only one son named Tankdhar who was married to a beautiful lady. Ghana babu was benevolent and well-reputed in his area. After a few years, he breathed his last.

  Before his death, he had transferred all landed properties and assets in the name of Tanka. The widow's landlady was extremely loving her son Tanka as he was the only son. But Tanka gradually became henpecked and was always at the beck and call of his wife whereby he started neglecting his own mother.

  One day she asked Tankadhar to bring the heart of her mother-in-law at any cost. So the henpecked Tanka killed his mother and brought her lungs out mercilessly. It was a dark night when he was carrying the heart of her mother he stumbled on the way. At the same time the heart told Tankadhar with a sympathetic voice, ", O my dear son do you feel the pain of stumbling. Go home and our daughter in law will dress your wound and give you medicine."Suddenly he realised his fault and fully amazed. This incident had completely changed the life course of Tanka and adopted Sanyasa with strong repentance. Afterward, he divorced his callous wife and went away to Himalayas and began to spend an ascetic life inside the dense forest.
