Moedig did what the dragon said and with one strong blow, cut out the longest branch. As the dragon withered away, he spoke his last words, “ My son, your quest isn't over yet, you have to think about who you are, what you have been and what you will follow, I’m sure someday you will go out there, to the world of people like you. Don't get disheartened because this is what life is that  Hope is born with us, lives with us, dies with us, but the only thing that remains is faith, and that too is blind.”

Moedig jumped into the same hole and sat next to his father as he got sucked further and further into the tree. Even after his father was sucked completely into the tree, he continued to sit there.

Many years have gone by, but it is said that he is still sitting next to the tree all alone and forever because he became immortal from the magic of the tree!
