You're So Lonely

You're So Lonely

I know you miss the times when I was there,

Always telling you to have no fear.

You held my head very high and strong,

And added happy notes to my sad song.

I know you miss the way I looked at you,

As if you were too blind to go through.

The path you are on might hurt and scathe,

Remember all goes well if we just have faith.

I know you miss the sound of my melodious voice,

Through bitter times a saving noise

That told you what was right and wrong

But rang in your ears for far too long.

A caring person, I was such,

Who helped and hurt you, oh so much.

I'd guided and mislead you through the day

I left you lonely when you'd promised me a lifetime stay.

Over things like that I had no control.

A rock set in motion will continue to roll.

No matter how hard I tug and heave,

I was always pushed and forced to leave.

Then one day I never returned,

Your tears were so hot, they almost burned.

You're aware now about what you lack,

But crying and mourning won't bring me back.

For you to let out what you need to say.

You can't do much more than pray.

No longer you may be weak; your heart's quite strong

From adding a happy chorus to a sad song.
