Something happened six years before World War II. Hitler became chancellor of Germany in 1933. Six years later Hitler would start the greatest war of history and it would include thirty countries. 

World War II started when Hitler's troops, the Nazis, invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. This attack dragged Poland into World War II but many more countries were yet to come into this murderous and tragic battle between the Allied Powers and the Axis powers.

 Hitler's troops next invaded Norway in May 1940. By doing surprise attacks like these in many countries, Hitler was on the path to conquering entire Europe and by invading more and more countries, he could rule the world. 

 

France was the next target for the Nazis as they invaded France in 1940. Since France was not a very armed naval force or air force, Germany conquered France with ease. France surrendered to Germany in 1940. Soon after France surrendered the Axis powers formed and consisted of three major countries Italy, Japan, and Germany. This team formed on September 27, 1940, and was ready to take over the world.

One year later Japan did a surprise attack on the United States of America at a naval base in Pearl Harbor and succeeded in doing so. In this surprise attack, the United States lost twenty-one naval ships and three aircraft carriers. Overall 2,403 soldiers and 68 civilians died in this attack. Due to this event, the United States plunged into the World War. However, the United States needed to prepare for the war as two-thirds of the American soldiers had never held a rifle before. This act from the Japanese angered a lot of American soldiers and civilians. This also angered Franklin D. Roosevelt and made America part of the war.

This was the year of 1941 and Hitler is about to break the pact that he signed with Stallin. It is wintertime in the Soviet Union. It is June 22, 1941, and Hitler's troops are almost just about to invade the Soviet Union with a surprise attack and they did it almost. Once the Nazis started firing in the freezing cold weather, Stalin came to know and he ordered the civilians to burn down their houses so that the Germans couldn't get anything. It was a really desperate move. But after weeks and months of fighting the Germans had to retreat because they couldn't handle the severe cold weather conditions.

Then once the treaty of Hitler and Stallian was broken, the Soviet Union came into the war too and the Allied powers consisted of 6 major countries and they were India which under the rule of Britain at the time, Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, France, and Poland even though some of the six countries were under the rule of Germany.

Once the German forces retreated their invasion in the Soviet Union, the War was about to turn upside down. 

In 1944 the Allies launched the D-Day invasion of France on the coast of Normandy. During the D-Day invasion, Germany got surrounded by the Allied powers and gave up after their chancellor Hitler, committed suicide with his wife who he had married the day earlier. Another reason Germany surrendered was that the Soviet Union had reached Berlin. Soon later the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 to make Japan surrender. Germany and Italy had already surrendered by then and the only country that was left from the Axis powers was Japan. Overall approximately eighty-five million people were killed by this terrorizing war. This tragic battle ended on September 2, 1945, when the Japanese had surrendered.
