Never Be The Same
Never Be The Same
She paces
back and forth
Looking over her shoulder
Her laughter
chastising her inner child
Crying out for help
She sees him in every man
"No, no, get off of me Stop"
She chants
She begins to tug at her clothing
Gripping her arms in discomfort
Haunted by his face
Eyes rest on a small mirror
Her reflection distorted
Disgust grew within
"Mom come in here help!"
She had to wear pants and dress
Had to provide for three
She, her and HE.
HE hurt She
HE was the favorite
She was the youngest
Thought if she spoke
She'd be blamed
Left
Toting the pain
Confided in a few
They couldn't believe what
She went through
"Talk to your mother"
"Don't take it to the grave"
Even if it was her brother?
things would never be the same.
