Lost & Found

Lost & Found

Time had elapsed,

As seconds by second had passed away.

It was the routine.

The timing, and structure,

Making it strange...

There lay a tag on the table,

Of payment on layaway.

There was no coffee on the table,

Nor a pile of their change.

This wasn't like an unconfirmed schedule,

They knew it was off.

Blood splatters on the floor had dripped and led up to the vault.

But come to find out in reality

It wasn't what you thought.

The ticket was examined,

The baby crib was paid off actually.

The exchange of energy had happened,

What lost was found factually.

The bloody floor and handle to the safe had set a bloody stage.

Lost in transition,

What they found,

Was a crinkled page.

It looked like a robbery,

But they read through the note.

Thankfully to find out just what was lost,

Connections now provoked.

They were taken aback just like a license that had been revoked.

They did lose a life that day,

But they also had gained one.

The mother passed away,

Lost,

They found they finally had their grandson.

Lost their daughter in the process,

And gained a new life.

Lost and Found within the same transaction,

What does it feel like?

They dialed the number on the note,

To the hospital room left from the husband.

Tears begin to fall,

As their spirits started stumbling.

Letting it sink in what had really transpired.

It was reality,

Their daughter they couldn't see her tomorrow,

Nor the next day,

Nor any other time after that.

The hurt would only increase,

When her face,

She would stare at their grandson but still see her looking back.

The grandfather felt a tight strain.

He lashed out at his wife's arm,

And felt it through his veins,

Clutching tight on his cane.

What was once lost was found,

But as he passed away,

Twas lost a-gain.

For as the Grandfather passed away,

Revealed the blessing of a granddaughter as a twin.

So what was lost so quickly was surely found yet a-gain...

Lost & Found.
